It is one of the most widespread naturally occurring birds in the world (Boarman and Heinrich 1999).

Along with being physically widespread, the Raven plays a central part of mythological tales around the world.

The Raven in North America, according to the range map by Montana Fish, Wildlife an Parks, is found mainly west of the Mississippi River. The raven is one of the first animals to feed off of road kill. As light begins to fade with the setting of the sun the ravens return one by one to their nest in the treetops. Performing one final aerial ballet before settling down for the night.

The Raven is also know as The Trickster a habit that this bird plays to the max in Yellowstone National Park, several of these photos were taken in Yellowstone were The Raven is habituated to handouts.
